Aurifil Sewing NR-6047 Editorial Review
The Aurifil Black Quilting Thread in 50wt is quickly becoming a favorite among quilters, with many users praising its exceptional quality and performance. This high-quality thread is made from extra-long Egyptian cotton, which provides a smoother, finer texture compared to typical store-bought threads. Customers have reported that using Aurifil thread has noticeably improved their quilting results by enabling precise seams and reducing size variability in blocks. The fine thickness of the thread allows seams to sit neatly within the fabric, preventing any "wonky" appearances that can mar a quilt top. One of the standout features of Aurifil is its low lint production, which contributes to a cleaner sewing experience compared to many cheaper alternatives. The ability to wind more thread onto the bobbin due to its finer diameter is also highlighted as a significant advantage, particularly for those with smaller sewing machines. The Consensus among users is that fewer interruptions for winding bobbins translates to more productive sewing time. While some customers have expressed minor dissatisfaction with the "curliness" of the thread, this does not overshadow the numerous benefits, such as longevity and strength. Many quilters report that a single spool lasts through several projects, making it a cost-effective choice despite its higher initial price. Aurifil's variety of colors, including solid and variegated options, is also lauded, allowing for more creative freedom in quilting designs. Overall, the Aurifil Black Quilting Thread is often deemed a must-have for both amateur and experienced quilters looking to enhance their work quality.
