The cardioid setting is recommended for extraneous noise reduction and it works well for talking-head videos. Outdoor recording would be better with a cardioid mic. The foam wind-muff does a good job of cutting out wind noise, but it comes off easily, so using a little super glue is advised. The cord is longer than necessary and hanging way down is the outcome, but it’s small and convenient. Great support is given from the manufacturer. The plastic clip on the lapel clamp feels iffy, but it’s reasonable for the price.
