bottle of synthetic fabric dye is specially formulated to dye polyester and cotton/poly blends, acrylic acetate, nylon, and even 3D printed items, lacrosse sticks, wigs, and most plastics. With its bright and vivid coloring, Rit DyeMore Sandstone will breathe new life into your synthetic garments, costumes, and textiles. Whether you're looking to create trendy fashion pieces or add a personal touch to your home decor, this dye is the perfect choice. Created with convenience in mind, Rit DyeMore is non-toxic and safe for sewer and septic systems.
It comes with easy-to-follow instructions, but please note that color results may vary depending on the fabric type, amount of dye used, and time spent in the dye bath. Before dyeing, it is recommended to pre-wash your fabric to remove any finishes or stains. For every pound of dry fabric, you'll need half a bottle (3.5 oz) of dye mixed with 3 gallons of water. If you're working with polyester, be sure to double the amount of dye. Using Rit DyeMore is a breeze.
Simply shake the bottle well before using and wear rubber gloves to protect your hands. Heat water to just below boiling (ideally around 200 degrees F or greater) in a stainless steel pot. Add 1 teaspoon of liquid dish detergent and the dye, mixing it well.
Submerge your unfolded wet fabric into the dye bath and stir consistently for 30 minutes to an hour, depending on your desired color intensity. Remember, nylon dyes faster, so keep an eye on your fabric. After dyeing, rinse your fabric in warm water and gradually cool water until the rinse water runs clear. Wash it by hand or in your washing machine with mild detergent and an old towel to prevent dye transfer.
