- Bu çalışma, Türkiye'de dinin yalnızca inanç, düşünce ve metinler üzerinden değil; aynı zamanda nesneler, mekânlar ve duyusal deneyimler aracılığıyla nasıl yaşandığını inceleyen bir maddi din (material religion) araştırmasıdır. Eser, din araştırmalarında yaygın olan metin merkezli ve normatif yaklaşımların gözden kaçırdığı maddi kültür unsurlarını görünür kılmayı amaçlamaktadır. Çalışmanın temel sorusu, inancın gündelik yaşam içerisinde hangi nesneler aracılığıyla somutlaştığı ve bu nesnelerin bireylerin dini deneyimlerini nasıl şekillendirdiğidir.Araştırma, Bruno Latour'un Aktör-Ağ Teorisi, Birgit Meyer'in Maddi Din yaklaşımı ve duyular sosyolojisi perspektiflerinden yararlanarak Türkiye'deki dini nesneleri analiz etmektedir. Tespih, seccade, cevşen, muska, levha, çeyiz eşyaları, hac ve umre hatıraları gibi geleneksel dini nesnelerin yanı sıra akıllı telefonlar, Kur'an uygulamaları, sosyal medya içerikleri ve dijital ibadet pratikleri de inceleme kapsamına alınmıştır. Eserde, dini nesnelerin yalnızca pasif araçlar olmadığı; hafıza taşıyıcısı, kimlik kurucu, duygusal destek sağlayıcı ve kutsalla ilişkiyi somutlaştırıcı işlevler üstlendiği savunulmaktadır. Modernleşme ve sekülerleşme süreçlerinin dini nesneleri ortadan kaldırmadığı, aksine yeni biçimlerde dönüştürdüğü ileri sürülmektedir. Bu bağlamda dijital ekranlar ve sosyal medya platformları, çağdaş dönemin yeni kutsal arayüzleri olarak değerlendirilmektedir. Sonuç olarak çalışma, Türkiye'deki dini hayatın anlaşılabilmesi için nesnelerin, bedenin ve duyuların ihmal edilmemesi gerektiğini ortaya koymakta; inancın yalnızca zihinsel değil, aynı zamanda maddi ve deneyimsel bir gerçeklik olduğunu göstermektedir.
